Circulation Policy
Regularly circulating items are available for checkout by residents of Richland County, Montana. Students at Sidney High School are issued a patron code when they register at Sidney High School.
Patrons who are not registered students at Sidney High School may check out regularly circulating material by requesting, in person, a library card. Name, local address, local phone number and a picture ID are required.
Anyone who is not a resident of Richland County may borrow materials from Sidney High School Library following normal Interlibrary Loan procedures.
Regularly circulating items are checked out for a two week time period. These items may be renewed twice unless the item has a reserve on it.
Circulating reference materials may be checked out overnight.
Magazines, vertical files, pamphlets and other items must be used in the library.
Items in our audio visual collection are reserved for use by school personnel. Sidney High School students may borrow AV items with permission from a classroom teacher. Please ask at the check-out desk if you have a special request in this area Top
Fine Policy
Overdue items will be charged fines at the following rates:
- Regular circulating items - $0.25 per day (One day grace period)
- Overnight items - $0.50 per day
- Hourly items - $1.00 per day

Interlibrary Loan Policy
Interlibrary loan services are available to all students and staff of Sidney High School. No fee is charged by Sidney High School Library for this service to our patrons. However, if the lending library charges a fee for their interlibrary loan service the patron is responsible for paying these fees. It is the patron’s responsibility to notify the librarian of the dollar limit they wish to set for their request.
Any person not registered at Sidney High School Library that wants to borrow items should make their request through normal interlibrary loan procedures established at their school or public library. Top
Home Access to Online Resources
Infotrac Online Magazine Databases
The Infotrac databases are made available in part from funds allocated by the Montana State Legislature. Please let your library and your legislators know how important access to these materials are to you. If you would like to access Infotrac from home you will be prompted for a password. Please contact your local library for password information.
Discovering Authors and Contemporary Authors
The Discovering Collection and Contemporary Authors databases are available for home access to Sidney High School Library patrons. If you would like to access these from home you will be prompted for a user id and password. Please contact the library media specialist at Sidney High School Library for password information.
SIRS Researcher
The SIRS Researcher are available for home access to Sidney High School Library patrons. If you would like to access this from home you will be asked for a customer number and a password. Please contact the library media specialist at Sidney High School Library for this information.
